I wanted to show you the step by step process of a watercolor painting. Prismacolor pencils were used as well!
About half a roll of artist tape was gone though with this tutorial, because I had to keep scanning it in as I went. Watercolor paper buckles if you don't keep it strapped down onto a hard surface.
This will help a lot, thanks for making it! But can I ask - it\'s probably a dumb question, as I probably should have it guessed, but what do you use for the details in Step 4? Watercolor paint or pencils?
What a helpful tutorial! (Interesting subject matter as well.) It\'s always nice to see other people\'s techniques I think
Now if I could just be bothered to apply those techniques instead of rushing into painting with too much enthusiasm... My worst crime is never taping the paper. I don\'t have anywhere to tape it to
Hey thanks for asking-have you ever heard of artist tape? It's a clean release tape-so you won't tear your paper-that you can get at hobby lobby or even hardware stores. Mine is blue in color. I used it also to paint my brother's room, it's really awesome

Woot! Tutorials take so much time, but they're worth it! Ok go to your local crafts store-mine is hobby lobby-and you'll find artists tape. It's usually blue in color, and it won't tear your paper when you pull it loose. OMG I did that once-tore my paper-because I used some crap tape. Go the safe route and save yourself some trouble

Awesome-I'm super glad I could help to inspire! I used watercolors with a round brush on the background for the details. ^^ There is no such thing as a dumb question! XD
Colored pencils are super fun with watercolors-try it out sometime!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
