Finally found these guys hiding away in my room. These are some little pieces of experiment jewelry I made back in high school.
I never took a class for jewelry-it was more of an after school thing I did for fun. I gained so much experience from my teachers there, they were awesome.

As for making these-the two on the ends were casted using a cuttlebone. You carve out your image and heat up some silver with a blowtorch. HOT! VERY HOT! It solidifies real quick, then you peel away the cuttlebone your hunk of silver has transformed into something neat!

The middle leaf was first made in wax, then used as a mold to cast. It's a neat little necklace. ^^

I don't consider myself a jewelry maker, but it was neat to learn how to make these little guys. Who knows, I might get into this one day.

Enjoy!

Very cool! I wonder how one would make a merkaba? I tried with wire, and failed miserably.

Amazing. I'd heard of using wax, but not cuttle bone.

Gotta love metal work :D I've done a bunch of lost wax style casting. So its the same with building everything first, except that we did it with wax first, put it in investment, melted the wax out and then shot the metal into the investment mold. Then we could make rubber molds for the piece and make a BUNCH of them! And yes, Silver is far to expensive these days....
