_Garden Dragon_

Thank you everybody for being patient with me posting new art. I have been away from the computer enjoying the outdoors and the warm weather.

I have been inspired by grass, leaves, dirt, rocks and trees once again. This creature was seen hiding in my garden in the backyard. His ears mimic the grass and the scaled crests covering his eyes ripple in a way similar to a caterpillar when he is stalking prey. He is able to camouflage well with his surroundings, as his scales can change from a light green to a dark brown. They have photosynthetic properties. Horns with a bark-like texture grow with the seasons, and are green in the spring months and shed when winter arrives. His tongue acts as a root and draws water and nutrients directly out of the soil. The leafy frills around the jaw act as a cooling membrane and relieve this creature from the heat during the summer months, when he is most active.

Mediums used: Watercolor pencils and prismacolor pencils on 90 lb. cold press watercolor paper. Digital background done in photoshop 7.0
