Tying in animals with natural elements, such as bark, roots, leaves etc. is a lot of fun. Your imagination doesn't have limits. Let it take you where it wants you to go...

For me art provides the opportunity to explore yourself and express feelings we suppress. I have a great appreciation for therapeutic art. In this case it proved helpful for me. I love to experiment with putting my emotions down on paper. In the end I feel refreshed.

_Keeper of Ideas_


This ceramics piece was inspired by nature. I tried to make it look as organic as possible by tying in different textures and glazes.

It's part of a story I'm writing for fun about an organic library connected to the woods surrounding it. The message focuses on how everything man claims as his originally comes for the natural world, even knowledge. Books are after all, made from trees.

It won a national Scholastic's Art and Writing award in 2007.

Hard Times

Things are going pretty rough in my life right now. School is proving to be very challenging and I'm having a hard time concentrating. This year has been very difficult to adjust to. On top of that my boyfriend and I are splitting up. We were going to try and aim for a long distance relationship, but I don't think that's what he wants. I've been very emotional about it and will miss all the fun times we had.

I've grown a lot over the past year and I think all of this will help me to become a stronger person, no matter how hard it hurts now. I guess I'm asking for some closure and some peace right now. It's hard when people are arguing and don't want to listen to the other person's perspective.

I am not a gloomy person or someone who likes to hang on to negativity, but this just really sucks. I guess as artists all we can really do is express ourselves no matter how good or bad we are feeling. Feelings are important, aren't they? Sometimes it's hard to share them.



I'm sorry if this is a downer journal. I just need some friends right now. Thanks for all of your support.

Most of my inspiration comes from the natural world. Anatomy is also intriguing for me. I love working with organic shapes and combining textures and patterns from the outdoors.

If I'm not working, attending school or hanging out with friends I'm usually outside enjoying the natural world, which I very much aim to protect.

Conservation is extremely important to me. I am currently working on my degree in field biology and a minor in photography. My goal is to pursue wildlife/habitat conservation and inspire people with works of art that relate somewhat to the natural world.

I have a love for all animals! :heart:
